Elastomeric bridge bearings, commonly referred to as Neoprene Bridge Bearing Pads, are essential structural supports positioned between bridge superstructures and concrete piers. Zisan Construction manufactures and imports premium steel-reinforced elastomeric bearing pads complying with AASHTO M251, BS 5400, and EN 1337 standards.

Internal Structure & Vulcanization

A Neoprene Bridge Bearing Pad supplied by Zisan Construction consists of a monolithic sandwich matrix of 100% virgin chloroprene rubber bonded under extreme hydraulic pressure and heat with internal structural steel plates (Q235 / Q355).

Key Mechanical Functions

  • Vertical Load Absorption: Compresses uniformly under heavy vehicular loads (10 to 15 MPa compressive strength).
  • Rotational Flexibility: Accommodates longitudinal and transverse rotation of bridge girders due to deflection.
  • Shear Movement: Permits horizontal thermal expansion and contraction without generating damaging stresses in concrete piers.

BUET Testing & Quality Control

All elastomeric bridge bearings supplied by Zisan Construction are quality tested at the BUET materials testing laboratory to verify shear modulus, compression set, durometer hardness (60 ± 5 Shore A), and ozone resistance.
